All via seating seating manufactured with via seating in-stock fabrics meet the requirements of CAL-117. COM fabrics are not guaranteed to pass CAL-117. Please contact the COM supplier directly to determine the flame-retard nature of any COM supplied to us.
TB-133 (California Technical Bulletin 133) To specify a chair with TB-133 (fire proofing), there may be the need to also specify upholstered back shell.
Please Note: Additional COM/COL is required for TB-133. Please send in COM/COL requirements for seat/back cushions and the back shell.
The chairs presented within this price book, unless otherwise specified, do not meet California Technical Bulletin 133 (TB-133). Most via seating chair models can be prepared to meet the flame-retardant requirements of California Technical Bulletin 133 (TB-133) and the Boston Fire Code. In order to comply with these fire codes, via seating must upholster the chair with a flame-retardant
material (i.e. Kevlar® or equivalent). Additionally, most plastic components (i.e. seat pan, back shell, shrouds, etc.) must be either removed or completely upholstered with a flame-retardant material.
Please note, any chair models specified to comply with TB-133 may not resemble what is photographed in any of our marketing materials after the above mentioned modifications have been made. via seating is not responsible for determining the requirement of TB-133 compliance.
