Price Increase June 1st
Reminder of announcement
sent– 4/20/04

Due to a barrage of price increases from literally all of our suppliers, freight carriers, insurance carriers, coupled with the current unfavorable currency exchange conditions and skyrocketing petroleum and steel prices, it is necessary for us to increase our prices by 4.5%.
This price increase includes all VIA and VIA Basics products and will become effective June 1, 2004. To implement this price increase we will be issuing a supply of stickers to affix to the cover of all VIA and VIA Basics price lists.

Inventory Year End
 Please be advised that the plant will be closed for year-end inventory on Thursday, May 27 and Friday, May 28. Orders must be received by Monday, May 24 at 9:00 a.m. in order to ship before the shut down. Any orders received after this time will be entered starting on Tuesday, June 1.

Product Changes Updates

Newly improved - Active Back and Advanced Ergonomic Controls:

• The locking clutch plates in the back posture adjustment have been changed to a six position, anti-shock, cam locking system - Reason: Free float noise reduction.

• The Advanced Ergonomic control still utilizes the clutch plate locking system for the forward tilt feature only.

• Reminder of announcement sent 02/09/04 – Oslo as of Feb 04 now ships with a newly designed control that offers a ratchet back adjustment.

• Reminder of announcement sent 02/09/04 – Bergen – will also feature this new control
but will operate with existing cable release back height adjustment for at least another year. See attached adobe files for more in depth information.

Survey Update
As you are aware, the dealer part of our survey project went out last month. We would like to thank you all for your assistance in gathering information. The feedback is very beneficial to us in understanding our customer needs. We will continue to accept surveys up to the end of May. Rest assured this exercise is being very well received by our dealers and the feedback is very positive. Thank you all again!e
 New Product Preview
It is our pleasure to introduce the new ‘Sienna’ series. This new, modular, lounge seating system, will be launched at the VIA booth at NeoCon®. These images are Ed’s conceptual drawings. Art work and cut sheets to follow. This is a very exciting development for our lounge seating offering. Nappa will have a tablet arm with several different configuration possibilities.
Welcome Aboard Cristina!
We would very much like to welcome our new receptionist - Cristina Melton. Cristina officially took over duties from Rachel as of Monday 19th of April and brings a wealth of customer service experience to the position. We are very excited to have her on board! So, when you call in, be sure and give her a warm VIA welcome. Cristina will also be managing all literature requests – so please do not hesitate in contacting her either via email or telephone.

For those of you who are now planning your travel to Chicago please remember that our mandatory training session is scheduled for Sunday 13th June from 3.30 to 5pm at suite space B301 on the 8th floor (same space as last year). Our annual rep award dinner (reps only please) is scheduled for Monday night June 14th beginning at 7pm at Gibson’s steakhouse – 1028 North Rush St. Chicago (same place as last year). For those of you who have not returned your attendance form, please do so – Jennifer will refax this to you next week if you have not already returned it.
